  • Last of a Legacy – The final large-size $2 Legal Tender Note ever issued, marking the end of an iconic era in U.S. paper currency.

  • Oversized and Historic – Measuring over 7 inches wide, this impressive note features a bold design with Thomas Jefferson and the original U.S. Capitol.

  • A Collector’s Classic – A must-have for any serious currency collector, offering rich historical value and timeless American symbolism.

Step back in time with the historic 1917 $2 Legal Tender Note — the last large-size $2 bill ever printed by the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing. Measuring a bold 7.375 inches by 3.125 inches, this note towers over today’s currency and serves as a powerful reminder of a bygone era in American money.

Issued during a turning point in U.S. paper money history, this note was one of the final examples of the oversized format that defined 19th and early 20th-century currency. Its classic layout features a distinguished portrait of Thomas Jefferson on the left — a nod to his long-standing legacy on the $2 bill, which began in 1869. At the center, a beautifully detailed vignette of the U.S. Capitol Building stands proudly, showcasing the original structure as it appeared over a century ago.

The 1917 $2 Legal Tender Note isn’t just a collectible — it’s a relic of America’s evolving financial landscape. Whether you’re a seasoned paper money collector or a history enthusiast, this note offers a tangible link to the past and a striking addition to any collection.
