Great piece for this years collection.
I’m no veteran of coin collecting by any means. Buying bags of old Pennie’s is a fun past time but the cost of a pound of Pennie’s to get all 40s and 50s! It’s discouraging for future bulk buys. Quite frankly buying online, I can go to the local coin shop and buy single graded coins for a more reasonable price. I feel such things should be disclosed to buyers so they’re not wasting a hundred dollars or so for coins you can still find in a box from the bank for way less. I appreciate the life lesson but for bag and roll buys I will no longer participate.
DISAPPOINTED!! On your website, Under US Coins, Under Cents I clicked Rolls and Bags. There is a photo with a wheat cent, steel cent, Indian Head cent and a BU Gem under the heading: Corn Husker Hoard. In fact, it says: Wheat Cents, Indian Heads and BU Gems.
I ordered 3 rolls. One roll ONLY CONTAINED WHEAT CENTS, and NO STEEL CENTS, NO INDIAN HEADS and NO BU GEMS.
I called and spoke to John at your company and he said to email the company. I did. And today I received an email from John giving me excuse after excuse after excuse on why your company cannot be accountable for the false advertising. In his email he said because you opened the roll (HOW WOULD I KNOW WHAT IS INSIDE IF I DON'T OPEN IT!!), it could not be returned. THAT IS NOT OK AND NOT RESPONSIBLE ON YOUR COMPANY'S PART!
This is a terrible experience for me for being a first-time customer.
I want to RETURN the roll that DID NOT HAVE STEEL CENTS, INDIAN HEADS OR BU GEMS!
I want your company to send out another Corn Husker Hoard roll.
The other two Corn Husker Hoard rolls I ordered DID have: Steel Cents, Indian Heads and BU Gems and I am happy with those.
Please let me know you are sending out another Corn Husker Hoard roll. I will then send back the one Corn Husker Hoard roll that did not have any Steel Cents, Indian Heads or BU Gems.
DISAPPOINTED! The 156 wheat pennies were, at best, in good condition and their worth by the Handbook of United States, The Official Blue Book is .02 per penny = $3.12. There was an 1847 Large Cent which was nice and in fine condition for its age. The Blue Book price for that condition is $35. So, I paid $96.95 plus $15.20 s/h for $38.12 worth of pennies. Very poor value for what I paid. Plus, there were no wheats in the 1909 through 1929 years, but there were 26 1958D pennies... by far the most of any single year. Very strange.
What would have made me happy was had you included another Large Cent and a few wheats from 1909 through 1929.
By comparison, about 8 years ago I purchased a bag of wheats from Publisher's Clearing House for $29.95 plus $5 s/h. There were pennies from 1910 to 1958, not every year, but 1910's through the 1920's were included. Their value was far greater than yours. Plus, I could read the dates on their Steel cents. I could not on your Steel cents. Just Disappointed.
