This Seated Liberty Half Dollar is a scarce date coin. In 1840, the Mint produced Half Dollars with two distinctly different reverses. The "correct" version is the called Reverse of 1839, which has small letters that were placed into the die well away from the rim. This style was used from 1839 through 1841.
Very few readable dates Some with only with 2 readable numbers most of them were 35 36 37 probably 75%
Not a graded coin and bad packaging the box was completely smashed.
