Step back into American history with the 1925 Norse American Centennial AR Medal, a remarkable U.S. Mint medal commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Norwegian immigrant ship Restauration arriving in America. Designed by renowned sculptor James Earle Fraser, the medal features a powerful Norse chieftain on the obverse and a Viking longship on the reverse.

Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this is the thick-planchet 90% silver variety, with approximately 33,750 pieces produced. Weighing about 14.74 grams, the medal contains approximately 0.4267 troy oz of pure silver, while its distinctive octagonal shape and substantial 2 mm thick planchet give it a unique presence among classic American commemorative medals.

This exceptional example is certified PCGS MS64+ and CAC approved, offering collectors a premium combination of high-grade preservation and additional quality recognition. The reported PCGS population is just 20 for the MS64+ grade, making this a particularly desirable level for collectors pursuing scarce certified examples.

The estimated CAC population of 3 or fewer adds another layer of rarity to this already impressive medal. With its historic connection to Norwegian-American heritage, iconic Fraser artwork, 90% silver composition, and exceptionally limited certified population, this piece is an outstanding addition to a serious commemorative medal collection.
