The defeat at Hadrianopolis in 378 marked a critical blow, signaling Rome's impending collapse.

Amidst the chaos, emperors rose and fell in rapid succession. Valentinian I and his sons, Gratian and Valentinian II, attempted to stabilize the crumbling empire, only to face assassination and usurpation. Theodosius I emerged as a beacon of hope, reuniting the fractured halves of the empire and staunchly resisting barbarian incursions. Yet, even his prudent rule couldn't forestall the inevitable.

Within this album lie the coins of four Roman emperors, each a testament to the turbulent times they navigated:

Valentinian II: minted during the reign of Valentinian II was struck between AD 375 and 392.
Theodosius I: minted during the reign of Theodosius I was struck between AD 379 and 395.
Arcadius: minted during the reign of Arcadius was struck between AD 383 and 408.
Honorius: minted during the reign of Honorius was struck between AD 393 and 423.

These coins bear witness to the tumultuous reigns of these leaders, from the valiant efforts of Theodosius I to the tragic ineptitude of Honorius.
