The Rhode Island Bank Hoard $1 Note is a truly unique and historically significant piece of American currency. Issued between 1854 and 1856, each of these notes was meticulously hand-signed by both a cashier and the President of the Bank of the Republic in Providence, Rhode Island. Featuring an image of George Washington, this $1 note predates the Civil War by five years and originates from a remarkable hoard of banknotes discovered in the basement of the Rhode Island State House. These notes had been tucked away for over 165 years before being uncovered by a janitor, who sold them to a local coin shop.

The Republic Bank of Rhode Island had a brief existence, collapsing after just a few years due to the overprinting of large numbers of small denomination notes that circulated within Rhode Island and neighboring states. This makes the Rhode Island Bank Hoard $1 Note an exceptionally rare find. Each note from this collection will be shipped in a protective currency slip to ensure its preservation, adding an extra layer of security for this obsolete and valuable piece of numismatic history.

This note is not just a fascinating artifact; it represents a significant period in American financial history. Owning a Rhode Island Bank Hoard $1 Note means possessing a tangible piece of the past, making it a must-have for any serious currency collector. Given their rarity and historical importance, these notes are in limited supply. Add this exceptional banknote to your collection today, as once these are gone, we won't be able to get more of them.
